Can be useful or not, depending on what are your aims. Regardless, with Dxtory you have more options, and you can also stream, as someone here has already stated. With Dxtory I believe you also have the option of choosing the FRAPS codec, if I'm not mistaken. I would have to suggest Dxtory over FRAPS. I'm gonna test this now.Įdit 2: Meh, Gregion 3.1 drops frames a lot. What do you guys think about Bandicam?Įdit: I just found another screen capture program called Gregion 3.1 which is completely free. :/ But then, I don't have good Internet upload speed since I have like 0.95 Mbps. So, in this case, Dxtory really is better than Fraps since you can't use Fraps to stream SC2. He also shows you how to stream your desktop screen using Dxtory, too. Yeah, I read that it's also possible to stream SC2 with Dxtory, and there are tons of guides about it, and I've seen one of the guides from TL here by Nepsilon. Which also has better performance then lets say using Xsplit normally or FMLE with VHScreenCap. Also you can use Dxtory to stream with Xsplit or FMLE (Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder). Can't even tell when I'm recording with Dxtory, but with Fraps I can. O.o Amazing, isn't it? lolĭxtory simply has better performance vs Fraps. Basically, the original Fraps test video's size was 579 MB, but the Windows Movie Maker video's size was like 5 MB, for a 30 seconds video. But oh well, I think I am gonna stick to Windows Movie Maker because video's file size is the smallest so far, and the quality is still superb.

Yeah, I used Handbrake (and Avidemux) a long time ago. The preview option from Handbrake is pretty sexy as well for general idea for the quality. Also was never able to get anything besides lame mp3 for Virtualdub, the other encoder's supported different formats. It had no problem direct stream linking them though. My virtualdub had problems handling x264 so might want to try it for you if you want before you encode to x264. While VirtualDub has a batch encode as well I had a hell of a time getting x264 and lame mp3 for it. I have been trying Handbreak recently (usually use MeGUI) it is pretty nice for batch encodes as it allows you just chose input folder/output folder.
